Dark fairies are the most likely culprits.

Dark in appearance as well as mood, these fairies are found in the darkest recesses of your home. They tend to be attracted to houses with young people. It is little wonder that your children believe that there are creatures in cupboards and under their beds.

On a lighter note, however, these fairies are generally harmless. They project very powerful feelings of discomfort and fear to both children and adults, but would do you no harm should you happen upon one in your dark basement.

Dark Fairies are the creatures that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end when they are near.
